Simon Scholars Program

The mission of the Simon Scholars Program is to guide underserved students, who demonstrate leadership potential, on a path through high school and college that will enhance their opportunities to achieve meaningful careers.

This program was founded by, Ronald M. Simon, and developed intentionally and extensively by, Dr. Kathy Simon Abels. What started as a small program serving 10 scholars a year from our kitchen table, has expanded to serving 1,000 current high school and college scholars and more than 600 college graduates across the nation.

Our program empowers our scholars to find their voice and have the confidence to face their adversity and overcome challenges. As a result, they graduate from competitive institutions, find meaningful careers, create and support their own families, and serve as leaders in their communities.

As we celebrate the 20th anniversary of Simon Scholars, we have increased our focus and investment in Orange County to serve the growing need. During the pandemic, we doubled the size of our Orange County Chapter, bringing the total number of incoming scholars to 200 per year at over 35 partner high schools.

Our program will inspire future generations of leaders to flourish and build even stronger communities.
